Main aspects of approximative and transformative method of teaching foreign languages.

The system of techniques and methods of teaching foreign languages has two aspects: 1) communicative and practical, 2) conscious and comparative.
The first aspect represents the development of direct method line (direct method is called such because in teaching a foreign language an attempt is made to establish a direct connection between a fore¬ign word and the thing or notion it denotes without the aid of the native language). The second aspect stems from the traditional methods which have their origin in the grammar-translation method.
The first aspect is effective in environment of native speakers of the taught language. We should attribute any other method used in teaching lan¬guages out¬side this environment to a conscious and comparative set of methods, which though may have a com¬municative orien¬tation, are unable in principle to build a veritable communi¬cative environment – the only con¬di¬tion, that can create effec-tive verbal and emotional synergy necessary for switching on the psycho¬lo¬gical mechanisms of communi¬cative mastering the language. That is, only the envi¬ron¬ment, where the learner is 5–8 hours a day, can create conditions for integration abstract-verbal and emotional-expressive sides of human mentality, which takes place during mastering the mother tongue.
