The article deals with the problem of the quality of education in the context of modern globalization and European integration processes. The concept of "quality of education", being analyzed on the basis of various scientific approaches in the pedagogical literature, is considered: as a complex characteristic that reflects the range and level of educational services and the educational process; as a set of qualities of a person with a higher education characterizing his/her professional competences; as a system category that covers the concept of "quality of education" and "quality of training"; as an assessment of the level of knowledge, skills and abilities obtained by students; as one of the main indicators of state’s quality of life and economic growth, as the people’s capital. In the course of the research the pedagogical diagnostics was implemented as for the importance of the factors influencing the quality of knowledge in institutions of secondary and higher education. First, such factors are outlined that envisage: teachers’ high professional qualification, proper material, technical and information base of the educational establishment; favorable psychological environment, partnership and team spirit; taking into account international criteria for the quality of education in accordance with the requirements of the Bologna Process. Secondly, the factors affecting the mobility of teachers, students, pupils in the context of educational changes (an exchange of students and teachers, their training in foreign Universities, as well as international cooperation) are grounded. Thirdly, the level of preparedness of teachers and lecturers regarding the quality of the teaching process is presented. The following strategic directions of improving the quality of education in educational institutions are determined: the priority of education in society; the consideration of international experience; the training of highly qualified teachers; the continuous updating in the content of education; the growth of the role of lifelong learning in the world.
