Анотація
The peculiarities of language play in modern English printed and electronic mass media аre discussed. Using the examples of word-building ludic innovations, some ways of their formation are considered. It is noted that the use of the above linguistic phenomena permits to reveal and describe the pragmatic and sociocultural factors in communication.
