Abstract

The paper presents a mathematical model and software for optimizing the distribution of generation among Gas Piston Units (GPUs) within a single-site environment. The Economic Dispatch problem is formulated as a Mixed-Integer Linear Programming (MILP) task aimed at minimizing total fuel costs while satisfying technical constraints on unit status, power limits, and net output balance. GPU characteristics are modeled as piecewise linear functions. The model is implemented using the Gurobi solver and tested on a station with 8 identical units, achieving optimal solutions in approximately one second. The developed software is intended for integration into automated control systems of small-scale power generation stations. Future extensions include accounting for transient processes and battery energy storage systems.
