The article explores the use of Gothic style in graphic design. The author analyzes the origins of the Gothic style in medieval European architecture (12th–16th centuries), its key features such as verticality, pointed arches, stained glass windows, and the symbolic role of light in creating emotional and spiritual impact. The paper examines how Gothic aesthetics influenced medieval manuscript design and the formation of Gothic fonts (textura), characterized by dense, rhythmic letter structures. In modern graphic design, Gothic elements are not copied literally but adapted as visual techniques to convey drama, mysticism, emotional tension, and immersion. The author highlights the contrast with minimalism, the use of digital effects (neon, glitch, distortion), and its application in branding, posters, video games, and digital media. Conclusion: Gothic style functions as an expressive aesthetic code that transforms historical forms into contemporary visual solutions, enhancing emotional impact and expanding the possibilities of modern graphic design.
